The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University was organized under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Majed Najm, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hussam Rifai, Vice President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Maysoon Qutb, Dean of the College, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dalia Fikry, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Future Lights Foundation For the development, run by Eng. Sameh Edward and Dr. Imad Aziz, two workshops on recycling both “clothing waste” and “wood waste”.
The workshops included the presentation of many ideas and models for the two workshops submitted by students and graduates of the readymade garments and interior design and furniture departments in the college, and the outputs of the workshops came with results and recommendations on recycling operations, especially in the city center, which includes the headquarters of the workshops of the Future Lights Foundation for Development, which is interested in training women in the city of Khosos Work of small and micro projects.
These workshops contribute to exploiting the energies and capabilities of women within the community and refining their abilities to invest the environmental potentials surrounding them, and to contribute to spreading the culture of beauty and upscale taste in society.
