Manal Fakhry Ghali

“Factory Owner”

I am Manal Fakhry Ghali, 46 years old, married, and a holder of an industrial diploma. I have two children.

I live in Khosous – 16 Talaat Abu El-Kheir Street, off Teraa Al-Znaniri, branching from Khosous Main Street.

I am the owner of a shop for clothing manufacturing and repairs, as well as the owner of a production line in a factory for making bodysuits.

I learned about the Life is an Opportunity project from someone who had taken training there and started working. She was telling me about the foundation, its activities, and the training programs it offers.
I wanted to know more, so I contacted one of the project coordinators to register and enroll in the sewing training.

Before joining the training, I had a small shop for clothing repairs where I also sold sewing supplies and accessories. However, I always wanted to learn how to sew, as many customers would ask me for tailoring services, and I had to tell them that I didn’t know how.
When I heard about the project, I saw it as a great opportunity to train and learn everything from scratch. I applied, and within a week, they called me to inform me that the training was about to start.
At first, I was worried about the 12-day training period, thinking it was too long. But honestly, by the time it ended, I didn’t want it to finish! I learned as if I knew nothing before—from simply sitting at the sewing machine to completing a full product.
Now, I can design clothes, create patterns for each product, and tailor them to perfection. I have also mastered taking measurements for all ages, which helped me attract more customers.
I was very eager to expand my business, so I inquired about further training and enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Marketing Basics course at the foundation. I learned how to conduct feasibility studies, determine profit margins, calculate costs, market my products, and compete in the market.
I have a big dream—to own my own small factory. So, I started working hard and growing my business. Eventually, I rented a space suitable for a workshop or small factory and bought the necessary machines. Today, I own a factory with a production line for manufacturing pure cotton bodysuits. I market my products by selling them in my shop and distributing them to nearby stores.
Now, my children work alongside me in both the shop and clothing production. As a result, our income has significantly increased, improving our standard of living and helping us meet all of life’s demands.

The increase in her income had a significant impact on her family, improving their standard of living.

So, she transformed “from a trainee to a factory owner.”
